MOL Vietnam
A Strong Growing Presence
MOL first established its presence in Vietnam in 1896 as a rice-exporting carrier from Saigon. After returning in 1993 to launch its international container shipping business, the company achieved a major milestone in 2006 by becoming the first foreign shipping company to secure a 100% FDI license in Vietnam.
Over the decades, MOL has steadily expanded its services and investments, diversifying into RoRo, woodchip, wood pellet, project cargo, LNG, and future chemical services. Beyond shipping, MOL has pioneered investments in deep-water container terminals, marine towing services, office buildings, warehousing, and Vietnamese seafarer recruitment. All these investments come together to contribute to the development of Vietnam's maritime and logistic sector.
In addition, MOL has recently expanded into the offshore wind energy sector and logistics infrastructure, marking a significant step in its regional growth strategy.
